Henry at 2 months
Henry is 2 months old!
Weight: 12 pounds
Height: 22 3/4 inches
Nicknames:
Hank, Wild Man and Hank the Tank (given by the nurses in the NICU), Mr. Spittinkies, and Baby Love
Milestones:
Henry has begun to smile socially, not just because of gas of spitting up (although he is better at making his angry face that he apparently gets from me =] ). He giggles and squeals here and there, as well. Today he started to hold onto a toy ball. He is sleeping in his own room and gave us a stretch of 6.5 hours last night! His schedule is still all over the place but he is going to be at night between 10 and 11 PM.
Henry rolled over from his belly to his side during tummy time. He was on a soft surface so that helped him but I am still counting it as an achievement =)
Favorite Things:
Baby carrier, being held, swing, bouncy chair, bath time, nursing, spitting up, people singing to him (especially Mum and Daddy), Classical Music, Watching Sports and ESPN with Daddy (it actually calms him down), and his Linus Blanket
Dislikes:
Shots and IVs, Gas in his belly (but doesn't mind farting!), being sleepy and being put down awake (he has started to fall asleep on his own though when he is left to fuss), poopy diapers and hats that strap under the chin
Oh, the Places He has Gone:
Henry has done a bit of traveling in the past two months. He has had his first helicopter ride at 8 hours old.
First sleepover (other than the NICU) was with Great Grandma and Grandpa while kitchen was being finished. Henry and I also have spent some nights with Gram. Henry has met both Lula and Doo (dogs in our family) First state Henry traveled to was Michigan! He enjoyed the Lake and all the kisses from Riley and Gracey! Mimi had a wonderful time planning a craft project for him.
It has been a little over 2 months since Henry was born! And boy, has he changed our lives. I have not been up for blogging due to the craziness of all the events that followed Henry's birth. To catch you up to speed, Henry was born at 2:26 pm on September 13, 2011 and was flown by helicopter 8 hours later to another hospital. He was having a "difficult transition" to his new home due to having a collapsed lung and swallowing fluid causing pneumonia. Henry was admitted to NICU at West Penn by midnight and I was discharged from Westmoreland by noon the next day. It was a rough 10 days for our family, but Hank “the Hammer” is doing well now! Shortly after bringing Henry home we renovated our kitchen… when I say we I am referring to Ben and his handy-dandy family! I contributed with my opinion on paint colors, counter top and pulls for the cabinets.
For more details of event of the past few months, feel free to visit my husbands blog. He did a very good job keeping up with Henry’s birth story and kitchen renovation! http://pittsburghpadre.blogspot.com/
