I can't believe that Henry is already 6 months! This year is flying by so fast. I've enjoyed the newborn baby stage, but after 4 months things have been so much more fun. Most of the time Henry is sleeping through the night. He switches it up a bit when going through the occasional growth spurt or when his teeth are bothering him.

In this corner, we have Henry weighing in at 18 pounds 8 ounces and 26 inches long. New Tricks Henry's coolest trick is looking when you call his name!!! Even though he has no interest in rolling from his belly to back, Henry has started pushing himself up while on his belly; extending his arms fully. He is slowly learning that if he moves his shoulders while he does this he can inch to things he wants. He has also started to blow raspberries, suck on feet, feed himself his own bottle and sippy cup, can roll over back to belly, sits up unassisted (still needs monitored though... if he sees his feet he will go after them and fall forward), instead of putting arms up when playing "So Big" he insists on standing up, can push his butt up in the air during tummy time, and tries to crawl when on tummy (we call it "the mountain climber). Henry has attempted to put stuff in between his feet but can't get the idea that he has to keep his feet together to hold the toy.
Favorite Things Henry LOVES being able to sit in the cart at the store. I am pretty sure this is because he is nosey and doesn't want to miss anything! He loves to stick his hands out as we pass clothes to feel them. Also, he has started attending childcare twice a week. Every time we pick him up he is wide eyed watching all the older kids. Apparently, he likes it when the ladies (a.k.a. the female babies) try to hold his hand. Henry loves a good book and song. His favorite songs right now are the ABC's, This is My Commandment and My God is so Big. He loves to read, "Goodnight, Lake," and books about dogs (He smiles when it says woof, woof).
Henry is still a sports fan. He enjoys his time watching the Pens with Daddy (I enjoy this, too!) Another favorite thing of Henry's is SLEEP!!! I am pretty sure he will be sleeping like his Dad sooner than later. He has started taking two 2 hour naps, and is in bed no later than 8:30pm most evenings. He is very good at letting us know when he is tired (too good sometimes!). During night time feedings he will turn and arch his back so he can reach his crib. He will hold onto the crib until either he is done with his bottle or we give in.
His favorite toys are Sophie giraffe, taggy blanket, and dump truck. Henry received stacking rings as a half birthday present and loves them, as well. We found him playing with one he had put on his arm this morning.
Dislikes Henry is still very easy going and care free unless he is 1. extremely tired or 2. very hungry. He is slowly growing out of needing his legs covered to sleep. Living in a house without air conditioning will do that to you. Recently, he rolled onto his belly while in his crib for the first time. Sleeping on this belly was rough for the first day but he adjusted quickly and seems to care less now!
First Foods Henry loves to eat... He has been trying to use the spoon himself since day one. He likes rice cereal, peas, sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach, avocados, green beans, oatmeal, apples, and bananas. However, we have to feed him spinach in moderation due to the gas he produces =) He also started using a sippy cup around 4 months. Henry likes drinking out of it. We recently had the first family pictures done after becoming a family of three to celebrate Henry turning 6 months. Boy, did he turn on the charm for the ladies. |
